Earlier this summer, our influencer and social media team grew (again!) when we welcomed Samantha DuBois as assistant manager, influencer relations and digital media. In addition to creating and managing ongoing organic content for several clients, Sam focuses on national influencer partnerships. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in International Relations, Sam’s passion for travel and storytelling led her into the international development field. As communications coordinator for World Education, she led the organization’s first website redesign and managed email and social media outreach.

Eager to experience development work firsthand, Sam moved to Nicaragua in 2015 to manage digital communications for the volunteer-driven organization Global Brigades. During the course of her year-long contract, Sam visited projects across Nicaragua, Honduras and Panama, and implemented Global Brigades’ first social media strategy, highlighting the bond between volunteers and community members.

Sam has additional experience managing corporate social media and communications strategy in higher education and healthcare tech. She runs a weekly travel newsletter with a friend and is excited to use her passion for travel to support B’s clients. Sam recently earned her 200-hour registered yoga teacher certification. Outside of work, she enjoys teaching and practicing yoga while also kicking butt as a Krav Maga yellow belt. Learn more about her in the Q&A below!

About what aspect of joining BPR are you most excited?
I’ve always been passionate about travel, so I’m excited to experience the industry firsthand.

Favorite restaurant or happy hour spot?
Palenque on South Broadway for authentic Mexican food and killer Mezcal margaritas. Then over to Chupaflor next door for the creamiest ice cream.

Any secret talents we should know about?
Composing spur-of-the-moment jingles and finding really cheap airfares.

What is at the top of your bucket list?
Road-tripping across the U.S. with my mom so we can visit and rate every hometown diner.

What is your favorite place to which you have traveled?
Oia, Santorini, Greece. I convinced my parents to plan a family trip after seeing it in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (ha!). It’s one of the few places I’ve been that is just as amazing in real life as it is in the movies.

What is the most spontaneous thing you have ever done?
Deciding to leave my life in Boston to work in Esteli, Nicaragua for a year. No regrets!

Aside from the necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
My morning cup of coffee – hot or iced, depending on the season.

If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pasta, pasta and more pasta.
