Account Executive/Senior Account Executive

BPR is seeking an account executive or senior account executive (title and salary commensurate with experience) to join our growing team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field, and 3-7 years of post-college experience in public relations. PR for the tourism and/or hospitality industry or PR agency experience REQUIRED (both are preferred).
  • Media relationships with lifestyle, travel, food and beverage beat writers, editors and freelancers, locally and regionally, and proven ability to secure consistent, high quality media coverage.
  • Excellent writing skills and grammatical knowledge; proficiency in AP Style.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; collaborative nature.
  • Creative thinker, who loves coming up with new ideas, or improving upon the tried-and-true.
  • Proactive and organized; must have strong ability to balance multiple projects concurrently, prioritize, and take ownership of projects and relationships.
  • Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to occasionally work nights and weekends.
  • Knowledge of and experience using Cision, as well as key social media channels.
  • Knowledge of the tourism, hospitality and food/beverage industries, as well as knowledge of corresponding media outlets (travel, lifestyle, culinary media verticals).
  • Multilingual, knowledge of food and wine, and love of travel are all appreciated.

Duties + Responsibilities

  • Account Management:
    • Serve as a day-to-day lead on client accounts, in partnership with, and under the direction of, agency principals.
    • Work with agency partners and team members to create and manage execution of client strategy.
    • Draft website copy, blogs, awards submissions, advertorials and other deliverables.
    • Coordinate media events from start to finish.
    • Keep abreast of each client’s industry, trends, competition and related media coverage.
    • With assistance from junior staff (as available), monitor, collect, track, evaluate and create reports on public relations tactics and competitive activity – weekly, monthly and quarterly – as needed.
  • Media Relations:
    • Maintain successful relationships with key media, locally, regionally and nationally; leverage relationships to generate strong client results.
    • Develop new media relationships on an ongoing basis.
    • With assistance from agency partners, consistently update media relations strategy in order to maintain steady flow of both short- and long-lead coverage throughout campaign(s).
    • Draft press kit documents, pitches, blogs, advertorial and other PR and marketing collateral.
    • Develop and manage media lists, editorial calendars and more, using Cision.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned.
    • Understand social media and influencer relations, and identify ways to integrate both into traditional communication strategies.
    • Support and help generate new business development.

Compensation

PR & Social Media Intern

B Public Relations will next be seeking an undergraduate student preparing for a career in public relations to support the agency for the 2019 summer (May/June-August) semester. The ideal candidate will be available to work approximately 20 hours per week, or more if available, in exchange for college credit.

Interns will support both the traditional PR and digital teams at BPR, gaining experience in media relations, press material drafting, reporting, content creation, influencer relations and event management. The intern will report directly to a team member at the agency, receiving regular mentoring and career development advice. If candidate is graduating following the internship, or has graduated, a full-time position at conclusion is a possibility!

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an accredited university, and working toward a bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations or a related field, OR recently graduated with a degree in marketing, public relations or a related field.
  • Excellent writing and grammatical skills, and working knowledge of AP Style.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities, ability to coordinate detailed projects concurrently.
  • An interest in the field of PR, especially within tourism and restaurant industries.
  • Interest and willingness to learn!

Duties + Responsibilities

  • Client/Project Management:
    • Manage daily client coverage monitoring, clipping and media placement reports.
    • Assist in the development of weekly, monthly and quarterly PR reports, as needed.
    • Conduct research surrounding past client and competitor media and influencer coverage.
    • Help compile new client discovery and competitive analysis documents.
    • Research niche affinity groups for possible client partnership opportunities.
  • Influencer & Media Relations, Social Media Support:
    • Create media lists using Cision, and conduct media pitching for select clients.
    • Create media and influencer briefing documents, for events and hosting opportunities, as assigned.
    • Draft press kit documents, as well as news releases and pitches.
    • Manage internal media event RSVP lists.
    • Coordinate/staff/attend media and influencer events.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned.

Social & Digital Media Coordinator

The Social & Digital Media Coordinator is responsible for assisting other members of the social team with day-to-day social media efforts. This person will have the ability work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet client deadlines. He or she should have a strong desire to grow their career in social media, and a drive to be part of a growing, nimble team at a boutique agency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communication, journalism or a related field; and 1-2 years of experience
  • Excellent writing and grammatical skills, and working knowledge of AP Style
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience using key social media channels and listings, including Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, TripAdvisor and Yelp
  • Strong organizational abilities and ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of third-party social platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc. a plus.
  • Demonstrated social media content writing and production skills
  • Experience with social media monitoring and engagement

Duties + Responsibilities

  • Client/Project Management:
    • Attend in-person meetings with clients, supporting the review of sections on the agenda that align with the day-to-day initiatives you’re managing.
    • Keep abreast of each client’s industry, competition and related social media presences.
    • Assist with coordination and staffing of media, influencer and general client events as necessary.
    • Assist with photography library management and development via site visits as needed.
  • Daily Social & Digital Media Tasks:
    • Research content ideas, social media trends and influencers.
    • Create, manage and grow client and company brand presence across social media channels, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and others.
    • Share positive client press, as sent by teammates, via company’s social media channels on regular basis.
    • Assist in the development of regular content calendars, developing organic content for both owned and earned social channels.
    • Schedule content to social platforms, including posting timely content.
    • Engage with, and follow, new influencers on a regular basis on client social media accounts (with an emphasis on Instagram) to grow their presence/followers and pique the interest of potential partners for future collaborations while keeping clients top-of-mind through consistent engagement with existing influencer partners/connections.
    • Proactively monitor social media channels for applicable clients, and engage with/respond to followers in timely manner (within 24 hours during week, within 72 hours on weekends).
    • Assist with client reputation management, to include responding to comments on consumer review platforms such as Facebook, TripAdvisor, Google and Yelp.
    • Assit in drafting and scheduling blog content, e-letters and other digital content.
    • Assist in compiling information for client reports.
