While it might be the start of summer, we’re already counting down to the Sundance Film Festival’s Boulder, Colorado, debut this Jan. 21-31. With official venues being revealed, hotels in the area are already seeing high demand. We’ve rounded up the best places to stay for a Hollywood-inspired getaway:
For the Red Carpet Regular: St Julien Hotel & Spa, the designated “Red Carpet Stay,” offers a front-row seat to views of the iconic Flatirons, respite at the award-winning Spa at St Julien and hyperlocal food and beverage at Jill’s Restaurant. Rooms here, and around Boulder, are bound to go first.
Denver – an easy 45-minute drive or bus ride – is home to several hotels that still feel central to the star-studded buzz, including:
For the Off-Duty Director: Halcyon, located in Cherry Creek North with Denver’s best designer shopping, offers access to premier fitness studios through its Wellness Passport, rentals from its Gear Garage, clandestine cocktailing at B&GC and more.
For the After-Party Connoisseur: The Ramble Hotel, RiNo’s crown jewel beloved for its sophisticated accommodations and marquee lobby bar, Death & Co, which offers priority reservations to hotel guests. Residential-inspired guestrooms and in-dining from Uchi make it a soft place to land during the hustle and bustle of Sundance.
For the Old Hollywood Icon: The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa has been a Denver landmark since 1892, and its guest list spans from Teddy Roosevelt to The Beatles. The hotel’s eight-story atrium, stained-glass skylight and Mexican onyx walls set the stage for a historic and cinematic stay. Sundance attendees can unwind with Afternoon Tea, cocktails at Ship Tavern, a prix-fixe dinner at Palace Arms or live jazz during weekend brunch.
For the Downtown Explorer: Magnolia Hotel Denver, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel is a modern boutique hotel with a historic backdrop, located in the heart of downtown Denver. Built as the First National Bank in 1910, the restored landmark welcomes visitors to stylish suites and retro-chic, bistro-style restaurant and bar, Harry’s.
For the Social Butterfly: Le Méridien and AC Hotel Denver Downtown bring together two distinct hospitality experiences under one roof. Moments away from the city’s most compelling diversions, the hotels share five exceptional dining concepts, including contemporary American fare at signature restaurant Corinne, and unmatched views at downtown Denver’s highest, open-air rooftop bar, 54thirty.
Sundance may be the main event, but with stays like these, the off-screen moments might just steal the show.
