AND THEN THERE WERE FIVE. BPR GROWS – AGAIN!

We are excited to announce the addition of Chelsea O’Neill to Team B, as assistant account executive. New to BPR but not to the world of public relations and communications, Chelsea brings with her a deep passion for travel and the hospitality industry as a whole. She joins BPR from Communications Strategy Group, where she specialized in public relations in the tourism and hospitality industries, as well as in consumer packaged goods, working on clients such as New Belgium Brewing, Colorado River Outfitters Association, the town of Aurora and the town of Pagosa Springs, among others. At BPR, Chelsea will be assisting with client strategy and account management and tapping her media relationships to secure impactful coverage.

A native of Phoenix, Chelsea spent the majority of her childhood as a Colorado resident, and graduated with a B.S. in Journalism and an emphasis on Public Relations and Political Science from the University of Colorado – Boulder. Chelsea works hard and loves to play, too. Her passions outside work include climbing mountains, discovering new craft brews, country music concerts, fishing, camping and spending time outside with her Blue Heeler, Maggie.

About what aspect of joining BPR are you most excited?

I’m so excited to work with BPR’s amazing client portfolio! Steve Jobs was right when he said, “the only way to do great work is to love what you do.” It just so happens I have a passion for travel and a lot of love for great food. Perfect fit!

What made you decide to pursue a career in PR?

I’ve always known that storytelling would be part of my career in some way, and I went to college thinking I wanted to be a reporter. I found PR along the way, and discovered I really loved storytelling on behalf of great organizations. There are so many companies out there working to make the world a better place in their own ways. I wanted to be a part of that!

What is your favorite happy hour spot?

I’m a beer drinker and love the vibe at Denver Beer Co. Happy hour specials or not, you can find me on their patio!

Any secret talents we should know about?

I could probably eat my body weight in breakfast burritos – this talent has not been tested, but I’m fairly confident in the claim.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go right now?

Italy. I studied in London for a few months while in college, and visited Rome for a long weekend. I’m absolutely in love, and want to eat and drink my way through the whole country!

We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful state. What is your favorite place to visit?

I’m a mountain girl, through and through. I live in Denver, but rarely spend a weekend here. My fiancé and I pack up the dog and go find a different mountain to climb or a different river to fish every weekend.

What is the most spontaneous thing you have ever done?

I had a little extra money one year around the holidays, and spontaneously bought flights to Mexico. I’d never been before, and saw an opportunity to get some sun and an extra stamp in my passport. Merry Christmas to me!

Aside from the necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?

My pup, Maggie Lynn. She’s my little shadow that follows me everywhere – we have a mutual obsession with each other!

What is your favorite type of cuisine, and where is the best place to get it?

That’s a toss up between Italian, sushi and Mexican food. I’m really into sushi lately and my go-to spot is Hapa in Cherry Creek North. It’s on the way home and too convenient!
