HOLIDAY POP-UPS

Timberline Steaks & Grille Après Ski Bar

For those looking for a trendy holiday bar or Colorado après ski experience – but only flying though Denver during the holiday hustle and bustle – Timberline Steaks & Grille in Denver International Airport is offering cocktails on the fly with an après ski-themed pop-up bar, now through Monday, Jan. 1. Created in association with Grey Goose and Patron, the bar is open daily from noon to 9 p.m. Decked out in holiday après ski decor and a Grand Marnier ski lift chair photo booth, the bar features to-go specialty cocktails including a Patron Fresh Lime Margarita,Habanero Margarita,Grey Goose Espresso Martini, Patron Anejo Old Fashioned, Grey Goose Pear Elderflower Spritz and more. Guests can also enjoy giveaways, free samples and more during the week of Dec. 25.

Blazing Bright Holiday Bar, Dec. 1, 2023-Jan. 1, 2024 

Starting Dec. 1, all is merry and bright at The Inverness Denver’s Fireside Bar & Grill, home to holiday pop-up bar Blazing Bright. Upon arrival, guests will feel immersed in holiday spirit starting on the hotel’s elegant drive, complete with twinkling trees and festive décor. For a limited time only, the Fireside space transforms into the ultimate Blazing Bright holiday pop-up bar, featuring sleigh shots and other creative cocktails including the Angry Elf peppermint martini, an Ugly Sweater Weather mule and the Not So Silent Night sangria. Blazing Bright also features decked-out charcuterie boards and other light bites within an over-the-top winter wonderland vibe. The Bah Humbug Hot Cocoa Bar features boozy holiday delights, more than eight seasonal toppings and a complimentary commemorative holiday mug. Oversized ornaments, wreaths, and a cozy firepit make the space the perfect place for a holiday happy hour or nightcap.     

Holiday Suite at Death & Co, Nov. 30-Dec. 30 

The ever-popular Death & Co Holiday Suite at The Ramble Hotel returns this season through Dec. 30. Death & Co’s intimate Suite 6A transforms into an elegant holiday bar with a floor-to-ceiling makeover, creating an immersive experience within the cozy space. The Holiday Suite features specialty cocktails, rare spirits from sponsor Edrington and all the holiday trimmings and decor to create a memorable and very festive evening.  

DECEMBER SPECIALS, EVENTS AND CLASSES

Tamalada Class at Que Bueno Suerte, Dec. 16 and 23 

“Tamalada” refers to a festive Mexican tradition where members of a family come together to spend time together and make tamales. This December, Que Bueno Suerte hosts its annual Tamalada classes, featuring hands-on instruction in the art of traditional tamale making. The classes will take place the first four Saturdays of December (Dec. 2, 9, 16 and 23) from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $70 for individuals and $120 per couple, and include the class, two drinks per person, a meal, and a dozen tamales to take home. Nocturne Swinging Holiday Songbook, Dec. 20-23

A holiday season tradition in its 9th year at Nocturne, Denver’s premier jazz and supper club, Swinging Holiday Songbooks shows will feature The Drew Morell Quintet on Dec. 20 and 21, as well as The Louisa Amend Quintet on Dec. 22 and 23. Each night will be full of seasonal cheer with riffs on classic versions of Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and Ella Fitzgerald’s holiday arrangements, as well as select songs from Vince Guaraldi’s Charlie Brown Christmas and beyond. Three-course “Dinner and a Show” reservations begin at $89 dollars (a la carte bar reservations are available starting at $39) available from 6-9 p.m. and can be booked here.

National Bacon Day at Slater’s 50/50, Dec. 30

The Upbeat – Live Jazz at Postino WineCafé, Jan. 4 and Jan. 18

Catch a vibe at Postino, a cozy wine bar with three locations in Denver, with live jazz tunes by the Jesse Troutman trio. Guests can settle into the heated patio and peruse Postino’s extensive list of by-the-glass wine selections as they share bruschetta boards and charcuterie platters. The live music goes from 6-8 p.m. and takes place at Postino 9+Co on Jan. 4 and Postino Broadway on Jan. 18.

Leven Deli Co. Rolls Out Gift-Wrapped Bread for the Holidays

Give the gift of fresh bread this season with a fresh loaf of scratch-made, naturally leavened bread from Leven Deli Co. Choose from house-made sourdough or rye and receive a beautifully wrapped loaf tied with a Leven kitchen towel and finished with two sprigs of fresh rosemary. Available starting Dec. 16, guests can order their favorite Leven Deli Co. bread gift-wrapped for $22 per loaf. Pair it with a bottle wine and sides from Leven’s deli case (whipped feta, roasted tomato pesto, 30-day mustard, grilled and marinated artichokes, etc.) for the perfect party gift or easy entertaining spread.

Pinkies Up, Holiday Tea at Local Jones

Guests can spend the afternoon sipping tea at Local Jones, located within Halcyon, a hotel in Cherry Creek, with warm scones, house-made pastries, savory sandwiches and Champagne. Offered from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday through the end of December, afternoon tea at Local Jones is anything but ordinary; curated by executive chef Dan Young and pastry chef Saura Kline, this modern take on tea starts at $55 per person. Guests will enjoy tea service for two, as well as petit fours, sandwich bites and scones. Guests also have the option to add a glass or bottle of Chandon sparkling wine or Dom Perignon Champagne. Holiday Bake Shop by Pastry Chef Saura Kline

Holiday Bake Shop, curated by pastry chef Saura Kline and located within Halcyon, a hotel in Cherry Creek, features various holiday baked goods for purchase including a spiced chocolate babka loaf, gluten-free brown butter Rice Krispie treats, chocolate peppermint brownies, cookie tins, macarons and more; plus, large pre-orders for baked goodies that feed up to 10 people (perfect for holiday parties and Christmas dinners with family). Pre-order confections include coconut eggnog cake, brown butter spiced pumpkin cake, pumpkin chiffon pie, chocolate haupia pie and more. Treats for furry friends, such as a peanut butter and pumpkin dog biscuit are also available. Christmas Eve Dinner at The Fort, Sunday, Dec. 24

Embrace the magic of Christmas in magical Red Rocks country with Christmas Eve dinner at The Fort. The award-winning, truly Colorado restaurant is serving a special three-course prix fixe menu just for the occasion. Start with The Fort’s signature dinner salad, served with a choice of house-made salad dressings and a basket of freshly baked dinner rolls. For the main course, choose from an eight-ounce ($54), 12-ounce ($64) or 16-ounce ($74) buffalo prime rib au jus, served with horseradish sauce, seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes, popovers and gravy. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Brunch at The Inverness Denver, Dec. 24-25

Enjoy a festive Christmas brunch at The Inverness Denver’s Garden Terrace Sunday, Dec. 24 or Monday, Dec. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Menu highlights include slow roasted prime rib, bourbon glazed ham and roasted turkey breast, seafood specialties such as crab claws, jumbo shrimp, mussels, sushi and much more. Afterwards, guests can enjoy an exceptional selection of savory desserts, including a cupcake tower, various yule logs, homemade pies and more. The Christmas Eve brunch is $98.16 per person and Christmas Day brunch is $136.36 per person (guests under five are complimentary) with an optional bottomless mimosa add-on available. Christmas Eve at Le French, Dec. 24

Le French will serve an elegant four-course dinner at both locations on Christmas Eve (even in the Denver Tech Center’s Belleview Station, despite that space’s typical Sunday closure). For $99 per person, guests are invited to choose from foie gras and fig on brioche toast or brie and baobab with apricot preserves for the first course, and a choice of velouté vichyssoise with crème fraiche and smoked trout roe or salade bijoux with pear, arugula, whipped goat cheese, pomegranate and candied pecan for the second. Third (main) course options include a choice of feuilleté aux champignons et sauce Champagne (a Chantarelles mushroom puff pastry served with Champagne sauce), magret de canard (duck breast, sauce foie gras, figs and turnips) or petite entrecote ribeye, served with fondant potatoes, demi-glace, blueberry and fleur de sel. The dessert course offers a choice of pavlova tropical, with passionfruit, pineapple, kiwi and mascarpone Chantilly, or Notre bûche, a vanilla bean panna cotta with raspberry-yuzu, pistachio and meringue. The special Christmas Eve menu will be served alongside a limited edition of Le French’s traditional menu. Both locations will be closed Christmas Day. Christmas Eve at Kachina Cantina, Dec. 24

Kachina Cantina, the free-spirited modern cantina in Denver’s Dairy Block, invites guests to celebrate the holidays with a special feast on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve: For $38, guests can enjoy a 16-ounce Butter-Aged Ribeye, served with chimichurri compound butter, horseradish potatoes, fried onions and grilled lemon asparagus. Christmas Eve Dinner at Le Bilboquet, Dec. 24

Le Bilboquet, a French bistro and bar located in the heart of Cherry Creek, will offer a three-course Christmas Eve prix fixe menu on Sunday, Dec. 24 for $155 per person. Diners will kick off the festive affair with executive chef Sosthéne Kaboré’s amuse bouche bites including hiramasa crudo and petit feuilletés de legumes before tucking into a choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert. Highlights include a foie gras dome, octopus carpaccio, coconut vadouvan risotto, Provence-spiced lamb loin and seared Alaskan halibut. Christmas Eve Dinner at Water Grill, Dec. 24

Skip the hassle of cooking another holiday dinner at home and enjoy a delicious Christmas Eve dinner at Water Grill. Guests will enjoy a broad selection of high-quality and live seafood such as iced shellfish platters, wild Ross Sea Chilean sea bass, first-of-season wild California spiny lobster and more. Christmas Day at Devil’s Kitchen, Dec. 25

On the fourth floor atop Grand Junction’s first boutique hotel, Devil’s Kitchen is cooking up a decadent Christmas feast with a twist this year. The pre-fixe menu will be available on Monday, December 25 from 12-5 p.m., inclusive of a variety of chef inspired salads, entrees, sides and desserts. Curated to delight everyone’s tastebuds, menu highlights include agave roasted root vegetable or winter citrus salad; entrees of bison Wellington tartelette, pork roulade or a gluten-free vegetable tart; and salt roasted marble potatoes, mint and citrus peas or broccolo romanesco on the side. Christmas dinner is not complete without a sweet treat, and diners can choose from a selection of seasonal desserts including bourbon pecan pie, chocolate peppermint cheesecake, chef’s Christmas cookies and more.   Christmas at Devil’s Kitchen is $60 per person ($20 for kids under 12). Jill’s Restaurant Candlelight Dinners, Dec. 24 & 25

From 4-9 p.m. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, guests of Jill’s Restaurant, located within St Julien Hotel & Spa, will enjoy a four-course, pre-fixe menu with holiday-inspired dishes including winter squash soup, roasted beet salad, turkey breast and stuffed leg roulade, prime rib, foraged mushroom risotto, hazelnut chocolate cheesecake and more. St Julien Christmas Day Grand Buffet, Dec. 25

Served in the ballroom at St Julien Hotel & Spa, guests can enjoy a lavish Christmas brunch buffet featuring a full breakfast buffet with huevos rancheros, frittata, breakfast meats and more; a seafood bar with Alaskan King crab legs; a wide selection of salads; hot dishes like seafood bisque, winter vegetable medley, stuffed boneless turkey legs with stuffing and more; a carving station with herb-crusted prime rib and Verlasso salmon and more; and a holiday dissert station, all in addition to bottomless mimosas and bloody marys.
