A “B”LATED HOLIDAY NOTE

BPR has a wonderful roster of clients, most of whom with we’ve worked for years; it’s because of them that we have the resources to give back to local non-profits each year. Instead of sending our clients boxes of factory-made cookies or hot chocolate gift sets for the holidays, we choose to make a contribution in their names to a worthy cause. In 2011, B’s first year in business, we sponsored a family who had fallen on hard times, providing gifts, as well as necessities like clothing, toiletries and grocery gift cards to help make the holiday a bit brighter. Last year, we asked our clients to choose causes to which we’d give time or resources, and this year we chose a cause very close to our own hearts: MaxFund No-Kill Animal Shelter and Adoption Center.

MaxFund was founded in 1988 by Dr. Bill and Mrs. Nancy Suro, at the time, owners of a large veterinary practice in Denver. That year, Max, an injured stray dog, was brought to the Suros’ practice. With their own funds and those donated by animal lovers such as themselves, the Suros rehabilitated Max, and he was adopted by one of the practice’s employees. Following Max’s recovery, there were still donated funds remaining, so the Suros began using them to help other homeless cats and dogs. MaxFund was born, and has been housing and helping animals ever since, with resources garnered from a variety of annual fundraising events, and the generous help of regular donors and volunteers.

As you’re probably aware if you’ve visited our Facebook page or Instagram feed, BPR is an agency of animal lovers. As such, after receiving final buyoff from our office dog and official BPR client relations manager, Henry, MaxFund was chosen as our 2013 holiday gift recipient. In late December, our team stopped in to provide an assortment of pet beds, dog harnesses, grocery gift cards and a much-needed “sky dancer” for MaxFund’s fundraiser events. While there, the team at MaxFund gave us a tour of their new facilities, and we couldn’t have been more impressed with the wonderful work the group is doing for homeless animals, and the amount of love those living there, while waiting for their forever homes, receive. We were so inspired, we’re pleased to announce that we’ll be taking on MaxFund as a pro-bono client in 2014, and are excited to help spread the word about all the wonderful things happening there.
